This News Medical article is about the study conducted by scientists at the University Complutense of Madrid (UCM) that proved how Reticare protection eliminated retinal cell death.  The study was released in Cambridge, MA at Harvard University campus at the RCC, the only University (UCM) satellite lab allowed on campus: http://www.news-medical.net/news/20170330/Could-light-from-LED-screens-cause-irreversible-eye-damage.aspx

Published in Naturehttp://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-018-28254-8 the University of Toledo study which explains clearly the reason why blue light from screens kills retina cells states that the “retinal can change into a killer molecule,” when it is activated by blue light. According to the study, the fact that “this protein, when it is activated by blue light, can kill any type of cell, including cancerous cells, shows how capable it can be in damaging the retina”.  It also states the fact  that the retina cells are neurons and when they die it becomes impossible to replace them.
